The LWV celebrates more than 100 years of efforts to secure the right of women to vote. The 19th Amendment, passed 100 years ago, as the result of the suffragettes’ movement (National American Woman Suffrage Association) and the work of the members of the League of Women Voters

Sparta Mayor Jerry Murphy presents a proclamation citing this work to Litsa Binder, President; Toni Zimmer, Secretary; Susan Pironti, Voter Services Chair; and Bill Green, Member. Their continued efforts empower women voters, and further the goals of our democracy.
The columns on the front of Town Hall are lit in purple to honor the LWV.
